A large bronze statue of an Amazon with a fine brown patina. After the antique marble statue in the Vatican museum in Rome. Signed "F. Barbedienne fondeur" and with the "Reduction mécanique A. Collas" seal. The foundry of Ferdinand Barbedienne was active in Paris since ca. 1840 and was well known for its statues of high quality, often after Roman or Greek originals.
