Horn snuff box depicting the ceremonies of the return of Napoleon's ashes to Paris. The moment is shown when on 15 December 1840 the cortege (which was so heavy it had to be drawn by sixteen black horses) passes in front of the Arc de Triomphe, down the Champs Elysées. The text reads: translation des cendres de Napoleon 15 10mme 1840.
